ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Jiang Zaidong, in a meeting that highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic engagement in the Middle East and West Asia. During the meeting, Senator Dar emphasised Pakistan’s continued commitment to supporting constructive initiatives that encourage dialogue among nations facing conflict. He underlined that sustainable peace could only be achieved through patient negotiation, mutual understanding, and respect for international norms. Pakistan, he noted, remained dedicated to playing a stabilising role wherever tensions threatened to escalate, particularly in regions critical to global security.
Ambassador Jiang, in turn, expressed his government’s deep appreciation for Pakistan’s proactive efforts in promoting peace and security across the Middle East and the Gulf. He highlighted the significance of Pakistan’s diplomatic interventions, noting that Beijing valued Islamabad’s balanced approach and its readiness to mediate in times of regional strain. Both sides reflected on the broader geopolitical landscape, agreeing that ongoing collaborative efforts were essential not only for regional stability but also for global economic and strategic interests.
The meeting concluded with a shared hope that sustained engagement and cooperative diplomacy would eventually yield durable solutions to persistent conflicts, benefiting all parties involved. Observers noted that such high-level exchanges reinforced the longstanding ties between Pakistan and China, illustrating a shared commitment to dialogue as a path toward reconciliation, security, and long-term stability in a region often marked by volatility.
