ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation of recent Israeli provocations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, underlining that any challenge to the mosque’s historic and legal status is wholly unacceptable. A spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office described Israel’s actions as a clear violation of international law, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
The spokesperson stressed Pakistan’s firm demand for the protection of the sanctity of all holy sites, including Al-Aqsa, which holds profound religious and cultural significance for Muslims worldwide. In a separate statement, the Foreign Office also condemned a deadly Israeli military attack on a school in Gaza, which tragically resulted in the deaths of dozens of people, including many children.
The spokesperson called on the international community to awaken to what Pakistan terms Israel’s ongoing war crimes and urged an immediate cessation of hostilities. The statement emphasized the urgent need for accountability to ensure that such acts of violence do not continue unchecked. Reaffirming its steadfast support for the Palestinian people, Pakistan reiterated its backing for their right to self-determination.
The country called for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital. This stance aligns with Pakistan’s long-standing position on the Israel-Palestine conflict, advocating for a just and peaceful resolution that respects international law and human rights.
Pakistan’s response reflects deep concern over escalating tensions and violence in the region and signals its commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause on diplomatic platforms globally. The situation remains a significant point of contention in international relations, with Pakistan urging collective action to uphold justice and peace for all parties involved.
