The Foreign Office spokesman underscored that Pakistan’s institutions remained steadfast in protecting the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, projecting a unified front amid mounting external scrutiny

    By Asghar Ali Mubarak

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan strongly rejected and condemned a provocative and unfounded statement made by India’s foreign minister, framing it as both baseless and irresponsible. Speaking on behalf of the Foreign Office, spokesperson Tahir Hussain Inderabi underscored that Pakistan was a responsible state, with all its institutions—including the armed forces—serving as pillars of national security.

The Foreign Office spokesman emphasized that these institutions remained fully committed to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, projecting unity in the face of external criticism. Recalling the events of May 2025, Inderabi highlighted the measured and professional response of Pakistan’s armed forces to Indian aggression.

The FO spokesman described their actions as marked by skill, resolve, and responsibility—an achievement he argued could not be undermined by any propaganda campaign. “No narrative or statement can negate the disciplined and restrained conduct of our forces during that period,” he said, framing Pakistan’s response as both legitimate and internationally responsible.

Inderabi further accused the Indian leadership of attempting to malign Pakistan’s state institutions and leadership as part of a deliberate strategy to distract from India’s own destabilizing actions in the region. He alleged that such provocative statements were meant to deflect attention from the terrorism India purportedly sponsors within Pakistan, asserting that these remarks revealed a lack of regard for regional peace, harmony, and stability.

The spokesperson also urged Indian authorities to confront issues within their own borders, pointing to extremist Hindutva ideology and its consequences, including mob violence, extrajudicial killings, and attacks on places of worship and private property. He suggested that rather than levelling unfounded accusations against Pakistan’s armed forces, India should address these internal challenges that undermine social cohesion and security.

Concluding his remarks, Inderabi reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to coexistence, dialogue, and diplomacy, stressing that the country remained united, strong, and determined to protect its national interests. He framed the response as a measured but firm assertion of Pakistan’s sovereignty, highlighting the nation’s resilience in the face of external provocations while signaling its openness to peaceful engagement and regional stability.
