RIYADH: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said Pakistan is planning to develop a structured pipeline of skilled human resources for key international markets, including Saudi Arabia, to generate economic benefits for both countries.
The Finance Minister made the remarks during a meeting with Saudi Arabian Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim on the sidelines of the AlUla Conference 2026 for Emerging Market Economies in Saudi Arabia. The two ministers discussed follow-ups on Saudi investments in Pakistan and broader bilateral economic cooperation.
The Saudi minister praised Pakistan’s high-quality talent in artificial intelligence and technology, noting that the country ranks among the top one or two globally. He said Saudi Arabia is keen to leverage Pakistani tech expertise to lead and support its ongoing technological transformation.
The minister also referenced US businessman and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who has previously highlighted the strength and potential of Pakistani technology professionals. He noted progress on the GCC Free Trade Agreement and emphasized prioritizing increased trade and exchanges with Pakistan.
Aurangzeb said dedicated teams from Pakistan are actively working to finalize Saudi Arabia’s investment commitments in the country. He also thanked the Saudi government for organizing a strategically important conference and expressed appreciation to Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim for Saudi Arabia’s continued support of Pakistan’s economy.
