RIYADH: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) showcased its growing aerospace capabilities at the World Defence Show 2026 in Saudi Arabia, presenting the JF-17 Thunder Block III and the Super Mushshaq aircraft to a global audience of defence and security professionals.
The exhibition, held in Riyadh, brought together militaries, manufacturers, and technology firms from around the world, offering a platform to display modern defence solutions and strategic innovation. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the PAF’s participation was aimed at demonstrating Pakistan’s operational expertise and its emerging role in advanced aerospace technology.
The JF-17 Thunder Block III, a 4.5-generation multi-role fighter, took center stage with its advanced avionics, cutting-edge AESA radar, and superior electronic warfare capabilities. The aircraft, described as the pinnacle of Pakistan’s combat aviation technology, is designed to meet the demands of contemporary air forces, reflecting significant progress in indigenous defence manufacturing.
Alongside the JF-17, the PAF also highlighted the Super Mushshaq basic trainer aircraft, which has gained recognition for its reliability, low operational costs, and ease of maintenance. The trainer underscores Pakistan’s commitment to building a capable and cost-effective pilot training infrastructure, which complements the nation’s broader aviation ambitions.
The ISPR noted that participation in the exhibition was a testament to the rapid growth of Pakistan’s local aerospace industry and the PAF’s proven operational proficiency on an international stage. By presenting both frontline combat and training aircraft, Pakistan sent a clear message about its capability to produce versatile, high-quality aviation assets while enhancing its reputation as a developing hub for aerospace innovation.
