HOUSTON: A significant gathering at the Pakistan Center in Houston witnessed the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected executive board members of the Pakistan Association of Greater Houston, one of the most prominent and long-standing Pakistani organizations in the United States. The event drew a diverse audience, reflecting the deep engagement of the Pakistani diaspora in civic and community affairs.
Among the elected officials, Sarah Khan made history by becoming the first woman to hold the position of Vice President, a milestone that resonated widely across the community.

Khan, who is also contesting for the position of Fort Bend County Treasurer in the forthcoming primary elections, described her election as “not only a milestone but also a reflection of the association’s new vision and progress,” underscoring her commitment to inclusive leadership and community service.
Syed Arshad Iqbal assumed the role of Joint Secretary, while Arif Ali Syed, Falk Fatima Zahra, and Syed Muhammad Nasir took office as executive board members. The oath of office was administered by the respected Judge Karsheen Basera, who praised the election as a positive step towards greater representation and inclusivity, noting that “It is encouraging to see a woman elected to such a key position in the association.”
The ceremony was attended by a broad spectrum of community leaders, including Siraj Narsi, President of the association, General Secretary Aamir Zaidi, Group Head Imtiaz Ahsan, prominent businessman Mohammed Baig, and Muzaffar Vohra.
