DALLAS: In Dallas, leaders from Pakistan’s two largest political parties, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), alongside other political allies, have established a joint platform named ‘Stand With Pakistan.’ This initiative seeks to challenge foreign interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs, particularly from U.S. political circles, and to counter the negative propaganda spread by the country’s adversaries.
The platform’s primary goal, as outlined in a joint meeting, is to present a united front for Pakistan, aiming to rise above political differences. Its focus is to engage U.S. lawmakers—especially members of Congress and the Senate—who have been accused of meddling in Pakistan’s political affairs or disseminating false information about the country. The leaders emphasized the need for a collective voice to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty and counter the narratives that undermine its political stability.
Key figures in the meeting included Syed Faiz Hassan, board member of South Asia Democracy Watch; Abid Malik, President of PML-N’s Overseas Kashmir chapter; Imtiaz Pirzada, Senior Vice President of PPP USA; Sabeel Abbasi, President of PML Texas; and Aftab Siddiqi, President of Dallas Peace and Justice Center, among others such as Naeem Chaudhry, Amir Memon, Iftikhar Darpan, Ashfaq Chaudhry, and Mohammad A. Bhatti.
Leaders at the meeting stressed that the broader objective of the ‘Stand With Pakistan’ platform is to rally patriotic Pakistanis across the United States, bringing them together in support of their homeland and its sovereignty. The initiative underscores a commitment to ensuring that Pakistan’s voice is heard and respected on the international stage.
