DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The executive engineer of PESCO’s rural division in Dera Ismail Khan, Engineer Muaz Ahmed, said the provision of safety equipment to line staff would help ensure the timely resolution of electricity outage complaints while protecting workers’ lives.
He said the government had allocated significant funds to supply protective gear so that line staff could prioritize their own safety before carrying out field duties. He was speaking at a safety seminar held at the PESCO Cantt Complaint Office. The seminar was attended by SDO PESCO Cantt Sub-Division Engineer Sanaullah Khan, line superintendent Inam Khan, superintendent Fasih Khan, and complaint and line staff of the department.
During the event, Muaz Ahmed distributed government-provided safety equipment among Cantt Complaint line staff, including safety gloves, boots, belts, raincoats, first aid boxes, torches and essential tools. Addressing the participants, he stressed that strict adherence to safety standard operating procedures during electricity supply and maintenance work was essential, warning that even minor negligence could lead to the loss of precious human lives. Muaz Ahmed said the protection of PESCO employees’ lives and property remained the institution’s top priority, and the provision of safety gear was a key part of that commitment. He added that safety awareness seminars were being organized to improve understanding of precautionary measures among line staff so that accidents could be prevented.
