KARACHI: PFUJ and IFJ figures urge members to vote for Shaher Bano and team in polls scheduled for December twenty seven.
Senior figures from Pakistan’s leading journalists’ bodies have appealed to members of the Karachi Press Club to support the Green Panel in the club’s upcoming elections, due to be held on Saturday, December twenty seven.
In a joint appeal issued in Karachi, the signatories included G M Jamali, member at large of the International Federation of Journalists’ Federation of Asia Pacific Journalists and a member of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists’ federal executive council, PFUJ vice-presidents Ghulam Akbar Jafri and Ghazala Faseeh, assistant secretaries general Rafi Hussain Farooqi and Shamaila Nawaz, and federal executive council members Syed Nasr Iqbal, Shahid Ghazali, Kamran Mustafa Lashari, Rashid Latif and Moeenullah Shah.
They were joined by Advocate Wakeel Rao, treasurer of the Sindh Parliamentary Reporters Association, senior member Muhammad Rafiq Baloch, and Qari Ehteshamul Haq Mufti, senior vice-president of the Council of Economic and Energy Journalists and secretary of the Karachi Press Club’s finance committee.
The statement urged Karachi Press Club members to cast their votes in large numbers for Green Panel presidential candidate Shaher Bano, vice-presidential candidate Saeed Jan Baloch, and governing body candidates Ajaz Jamali, Akbar Ali, Mahmood Riaz and Syed Muhammad Hamza Khalid. The appeal was issued by Shamaila Nawaz, assistant secretary general of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists.
