ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight bound for Skardu from Islamabad experienced a technical issue shortly after takeoff, leading to a brief diversion before reaching its intended destination. The flight, which took off from Islamabad at 10:50 am, encountered a technical fault as reported by the pilot at 11:55 am. Initially, the pilot announced plans to return to Islamabad for an emergency landing due to the malfunction.
However, shortly after, the pilot updated the passengers, informing them that the technical issue had been resolved. Instead of returning to Islamabad, the plane was diverted back to Skardu. It landed safely in Skardu at 11:45 am, slightly ahead of the originally scheduled arrival time. Among the 100 passengers on board were notable figures including MNA Nawabzada Mir Jamal Raisiani and a Gilgit-Baltistan Minister, as reported by the media. The quick resolution of the technical problem and the subsequent safe landing were met with relief by the passengers, who had been initially concerned about the flight’s sudden change in course.
