Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the severe suffering in Gaza, where widespread hunger, poverty, and famine have gripped the population

RIYADH: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has strongly condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza, accusing the country of flagrantly violating international humanitarian law. Speaking at the Arab Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Sharif described the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza as unprecedented, with widespread destruction of hospitals and a staggering loss of life.

The Prime Minister asserted that Israel’s attacks, particularly those targeting medical facilities, amounted to genocide and warned that the world’s silence in the face of these atrocities was only emboldening Israel to continue its violent actions. He highlighted the severe suffering in Gaza, where widespread hunger, poverty, and famine have gripped the population. He called for an immediate ceasefire, stressing that the international community must act decisively to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

PM Sharif also condemned Israel’s blockade of humanitarian aid, describing it as a weapon of war that exacerbates the crisis. He demanded an unconditional ceasefire and called for the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. He also urged for a global ban on arms supplies to Israel and called for accountability for Israel’s war crimes. Sharif warned that Israel’s expansionist policies were a grave threat to regional peace and security.

Furthermore, he expressed deep concern over Israel’s actions in Lebanon and against Iran, reiterating the need for international action to enforce the rulings of the International Court of Justice. The Prime Minister’s remarks underscored Pakistan’s continued stance of support for the Palestinian cause and its call for a peaceful resolution based on the establishment of a free and sovereign Palestinian state.
