JEDDAH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a significant two-day official visit to Doha on Wednesday, representing the second leg of his foreign tour, which also included Saudi Arabia. The Prime Minister was warmly seen off at the Royal Terminal of King Khalid International Airport by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrehman bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Governor of Riyadh Province, alongside Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, and various senior Saudi officials.
During his time in Saudi Arabia, PM Sharif addressed the prestigious 8th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh. In his address, he underscored Pakistan’s vast investment potential, outlining his government’s reform agenda and the proactive measures being taken to enhance trade and investment opportunities. In Doha, PM Sharif is set to engage in important bilateral discussions with the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as with Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.
These meetings are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar across various sectors, including trade, investment, and cultural exchanges. Highlighting the cultural dimension of his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the exhibition “Manzar: Art and Architecture in Pakistan from 1940 to Present” on Thursday.
