ISLAMABAD: Shehbaz Sharif has stated that Pakistan is effectively managing the current difficult situation, with progress being made on strategies to ensure the ample supply and export of essential commodities. He emphasized that the government will continue to take necessary measures to maintain economic stability and public welfare.
Addressing a review meeting on plans to mitigate financial and economic impacts, Shahbaz Sharif noted that many countries are struggling to balance demand and supply of essential goods amid current challenges. He called for effective measures to minimize the impact on domestic production.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for a comprehensive strategy to counter rising global prices, ensuring stability and growth across all sectors of the economy. He added that both internal and external macroeconomic factors should be carefully considered while formulating the plan.
Officials at the meeting reported that ministries and institutions are reviewing daily economic impacts in light of the ongoing situation.
Federal ministers present included Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb, Power Minister Owais Laghari, Information Minister Atta Tarar, Minister for Climate Change Musaddiq Malik, and Federal Minister Rana Tanveer.
Other attendees included Petroleum Minister Ali Parvez Malik, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Cheema, Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar, State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmed, and other senior officials.
