KARACHI: The District South Police have arrested a man allegedly responsible for the murder of a woman whose body was found near the Sunday Bazaar area close to China Port on 25 November.
The deceased, later identified as Shehnaz, wife of Arshad Gul, was discovered with severe injuries to her face, bound hands, and other signs of physical assault. The case has been registered under FIR 926/2025 at Boat Basin Police Station, under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Using modern investigative techniques and a technical approach, police conducted a thorough inquiry from multiple angles. After continuous efforts, the prime suspect, Mohammad Ehtesham, son of Mohammad Sadiq, was taken into custody. A mobile phone belonging to the victim was recovered from the suspect at the time of arrest.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to knowing the victim and stated that a financial dispute escalated into a confrontation on the day of the incident. In a fit of anger, he attacked the woman, resulting in her death. He then attempted to destroy evidence by damaging the victim’s face and fled the scene.
The suspect has been handed over to the Investigation Wing of Boat Basin Police for further legal proceedings and comprehensive investigation.
