DERA ISMAIL KHAN: City Circle Police in Dera Ismail Khan have intensified their operations with a major crackdown on a gang involved in dozens of robbery and motorcycle-snatching incidents, arresting the ringleader and recovering 10 snatched Honda CG-125 motorcycles. The operation was launched in response to rising cases of theft across the district.
According to police, the crackdown was carried out under the supervision of SP City Division Ali Hamza Butt, with teams led by SDPO City Circle Hafiz Muhammad Adnan conducting coordinated raids across City Circle, Proa Circle and Suburb Circle. Officers said the ringleader, Idrees Khan, son of Sher Muhammad, from the Gandapur tribe and a resident of Basti Istrana (South), was arrested during the operation.
Police said the remaining members of the gang had also been identified. They include Alyan, son of Musafir Khan, of the Banuchi tribe and a resident of Noor Valley; Zafar alias Dbalai, son of Sado Khan, of the Suleman Khel tribe and a resident of CRBC Chowk; and Habib, son of an unknown father, of the Mehsud tribe and a resident of Tank Road near the Customs Office. Efforts to arrest the absconding suspects remain underway.
From the custody of the arrested ringleader, police recovered 10 snatched Honda CG-125 motorcycles linked to multiple robbery cases, including Case No. 1169 (392 PPC) and Case No. 1217 (392 PPC), both registered at Cantonment Police Station. Police said records of all recovered motorcycles were being verified. City Division Police said they would continue strict action against criminal networks and emphasised their commitment to improving public safety and security.
