KARACHI: District South police said they had raided a venue in DHA Phase 6 and shut down an alleged dance party, arresting 21 people on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by the office of SSP Mehzoor Ali, Darakhshan police carried out the raid at a café identified as K Club in Nishat Commercial, Lane 4, acting on a tip-off.
Police said loud music was being played at the venue, where what they described as an obscene dance party was under way and shisha was also being used.
During the operation, 16 men and five women were taken into custody, while a woman identified as Farwa and several others managed to escape, the statement said.
Police said three shisha setups with multiple flavours and a large speaker were seized from the scene.
A case has been registered against the suspects under sections 294, 269, 270 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with provisions of the Sound System Ordinance 2015. Further investigation is under way, police added.
