TANDO ALLAHYAR: Police in Tando Allahyar continued a crackdown against drug dealers on the instructions of the inspector general of Sindh, recovering narcotics and registering cases against suspected peddlers.
According to police officials, officers took action against drug dealers and recovered 1,005 grams of hashish and 40 litres of locally made liquor. Three suspects were arrested and two cases were registered. In an operation carried out by A Section police station, the station house officer arrested three accused involved in drug peddling and seized the drugs from their possession, registering cases on behalf of the state.
Police identified the arrested suspects as Tahir, also known as Lota, son of Barkat Ali, and Waseem, also known as Barjo, son of Muhammad Yasin, while details of the third suspect were also recorded by the police.
Local residents welcomed the police action, describing drugs as a serious social evil and accusing drug dealers of pushing the country’s youth towards destruction. They said the use and sale of drugs had become widespread in Tando Allahyar district and urged the police to further intensify operations to ensure the complete eradication of drugs from the area.
