TANK: Power supply in North Waziristan and parts of Tank remains disrupted for the ninth consecutive day due to the collapse of key transmission towers. The affected areas include remote regions of South Waziristan, such as Kani Garm, Army Brigade, Sam, Ladha, and Makin. Despite efforts to restore electricity to some upper areas, significant parts of the region continue to experience prolonged outages.
According to TESCO (Tribal Electric Supply Company) officials, the power disruption occurred after strong winds damaged three transmission towers nine days ago in the Baka Khel mountainous area. The collapse of these towers has left several communities without electricity, disrupting daily life and essential services. While power has been partially restored in some upper areas through the Razmak Grid Station, full repairs have been hindered by the region’s difficult and rugged terrain.
The challenging geographical conditions in the affected areas have made it difficult for repair teams to access the damaged towers. TESCO engineers have been working under challenging circumstances, but the restoration process has been delayed due to the logistical difficulties of repairing transmission lines in such remote and hard-to-reach locations.
