KARACHI: In the 2026 annual elections of the Karachi Club, the Progressive Group secured a decisive victory, winning all available seats and cementing its position within the prestigious institution.
The results, formally confirmed by Election Commissioner Saeed Soomro and Deputy Commissioner Hafeez Ghaziani, marked a significant moment for the club’s governance, signalling widespread support for the Progressive Group’s agenda among its members.
Muhammad Aslam Rangoonwala was elected President, taking the helm of the Karachi Club at a time when members are anticipating renewed focus on development and community engagement. Abdul Wahid Abdul Qadir Jetal Surwala was chosen as Secretary, tasked with overseeing administrative functions and coordinating activities for the year ahead.
The newly elected Governing Body features a blend of experienced members and fresh faces, including Khalid Jan Muhammad Kadia (known as Khalid Sadaf), Adnan Ghori, Adnan Aziz Sakrani, Junaid Yusuf Hamdani, Abdul Salam Surwala, Zeeshan Akbar Ali Merchant, Muhammad Kashif Doni, Vishangarh, Mustafa Abdul Aziz, Ahmed Chakotra, and Safat Ali Agha.
Collectively, they are expected to steer the club through strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing facilities, member services, and the overall social and sporting environment that the Karachi Club is renowned for.
