LARKANA: Leaders of the Awami Tehreek and Sindhiani Tehreek have called for the arrest and punishment of landlords allegedly protecting bandits, accusing the government of exploiting the resources of oppressed communities.
The rally began at Tower in Larkana and concluded at Jinnah Bagh Chowk, led by Awami Tehreek figures Wasand Thari, Umra Samoon, and Noor Ahmed Katiyar.
Speaking at the event, advocate Wasand Thari criticized parliament, saying it had been reduced to a “rubber stamp,” and demanded a transparent judicial investigation into how NATO weapons were reaching criminal elements.
Central president of Sindhiani Tehreek, Umra Samoon, highlighted the historical resilience of Sindh’s women, noting that Section 144, originally imposed by the British, was meant to subjugate the public.
