LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the indefinite postponement of the remaining eight matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, citing national security concerns and on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Initially, the board had planned to move the matches from Pakistan to Dubai. However, in light of recent developments, PCB officials stated that the decision to postpone the tournament was made after consulting with the prime minister, who advised that the country’s focus should remain firmly on national defence efforts.
“The prevailing circumstances demanded a sober and unified response,” the board said in a statement, adding that it stands in solidarity with the families of martyrs and security personnel. The PCB also acknowledged the emotional strain on both local and international players, saying their mental wellbeing and that of their families had been taken into serious consideration.
The board expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and partners who contributed to organising the event so far, while reaffirming its commitment to resuming the league when the time is right.
