LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has postponed its planned protest that was set to occur on Friday. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja announced that the party will now hold its public rally on September 21, regardless of whether it receives a no objection certificate (NOC). “We [PTI] are not petrified of fascism and are ready to face jail but will hold a public rally in the provincial capital on September 21,” Raja stated.
In addition to the rescheduled rally, the PTI has planned a seminar to commemorate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) on September 17 (Tuesday). The party has instructed all its leaders and workers to actively participate in this seminar and the upcoming public rallies. The initial plan was to conduct public rallies across the provincial capital following Friday prayers, with PTI’s assembly members and ticket holders leading these demonstrations. The rallies aim to pressure the government for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan and other detained leaders and workers. The party’s revised plans underscore its continued commitment to its political objectives and its resolve to mobilize support despite ongoing challenges.
