DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Thousands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, workers, and supporters took to the streets of Dera Ismail Khan to protest the judicial sentences awarded to the party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, and his wife Bushra Bibi.
The rally commenced from the residence of former Tehsil Mayor candidate Sardar Haider Khan Mian Khel, moving through several city areas before reaching its designated endpoint. Among the participants were PTI leaders including Suleman Bhattani, former District President ISF, Afaan Khan Marwat, Shabee-ul-Hassan, and Irfan Kamrani.
Demonstrators carried party flags and placards, raising slogans in support of Imran Khan and demanding immediate justice. Chants such as “Imran Khan Zindabad” and “We do not accept rules of oppression” echoed throughout the procession.
Speakers at the rally described the legal cases and sentences as politically motivated, claiming the judiciary was being used as a tool for persecution. They urged the immediate withdrawal of all politically charged cases and called for decisions to be made transparently and in accordance with the principles of justice.
Addressing the crowd, speakers highlighted Imran Khan’s longstanding advocacy for the rule of law and true freedom, suggesting these positions were the reason for the alleged targeting. They reaffirmed that the protest movement would continue until justice was delivered.
The rally concluded peacefully, with participants maintaining discipline and pledging to sustain peaceful demonstrations in the future.
