KARACHI: In a sharp critique of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab accused the party of habitually opting for the “easy route” by taking U-turns. Speaking to the media following the inauguration of the Jamila Pumping Station in Karachi, Wahab pointed out the inconsistencies in PTI’s political narrative, highlighting its shifting stances on key issues.
Wahab specifically referenced PTI’s contradictory statements, saying that at one point the party’s leaders call those who are friendly with the US “traitors,” and at another, they express hope that former President Donald Trump would intervene for their release. This, according to the Mayor, exemplifies PTI’s tendency to take U-turns whenever it suits their interests.
The Mayor also defended the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), asserting that PPP’s commitment lies in serving the people. He emphasized that the public would soon differentiate between those who merely talk about change and those who actually deliver results, urging them to see for themselves who works for the public and who merely throws files around.
