KARACHI: Hotel Mehran has taken part in an interfaith peace and harmony ceremony in Karachi, using the occasion to announce special discount offers to mark both Christmas Day and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah Day.

The event was held at the Church of Pakistan, Diocese of Karachi and Balochistan, on the invitation of the Bishop of Karachi and Balochistan, the Rt Rev Frederick John. Religious leaders, senior professionals and representatives from different communities gathered to underline the importance of unity, tolerance and coexistence in the city.

To coincide with Christmas and Quaid-e-Azam Day, Hotel Mehran announced special discounts for the Christian community on 24, 25 and 26 December 2025. The offer will apply to all buffet meals and cakes at the hotel.

The ceremony was attended by Mohammad Abdullah, chief executive of the Karachi Containment Board; Bishop Frederick John; Yasir Ahmed, general manager of Hotel Mehran; Muhammad Yousuf, director sales at Hotel Mehran; Anwar Sardar Khan; Tushana Patel; and senior advocates of the Sindh high court, including Syed Israr Ali, Muhammad Jamil, Salim Michael and Nadeem Sheikh.

Speaking at the event, Mohammad Abdullah praised the initiative, saying that peace and interfaith harmony were essential for Karachi’s social stability and development. Bishop Frederick John said unity among different communities strengthened the country and reflected its shared values. Advocate Nadeem Sheikh noted that harmony, equality and respect for minorities were guaranteed under the Constitution of Pakistan.

Yasir Ahmed thanked the bishop and participants, reaffirming Hotel Mehran’s commitment to inclusivity and community harmony, and said the hotel would continue to support initiatives that promote peace and mutual respect. Hotel Mehran said it remained committed to encouraging interfaith understanding, cultural harmony and social cohesion in Karachi.
