ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating a diverse range of conditions across the country. Most regions are expected to endure hot and humid weather, while scattered thunderstorms are anticipated in several areas. Strong winds are also expected to accompany these storms.
From August 25, southeastern lower Sindh is projected to experience heavy downpours, which may lead to flash floods in low-lying areas due to the intensity of the rainfall. The PMD has cautioned about potential disruptions to daily life, highlighting the risk of damage to vulnerable infrastructure. This includes mud houses, walls, electricity poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels. Road closures may also result from the adverse weather conditions.
In Islamabad and its surrounding areas, the weather is likely to remain humid with partly cloudy skies. There is a chance of light rain, accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours.
In most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, partly cloudy weather is expected. However, isolated showers, along with strong winds and thunderstorms, are likely in several areas, including Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Kohat, Waziristan, and Kurram. The varied weather conditions across the country highlight the need for residents to stay informed about local forecasts and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to severe weather events.
