KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police have announced a traffic plan ahead of the central procession marking the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Ali (RA), set to take place on March 22 (21st Ramadan).
The main gathering will be held at Nishtar Park, with the central procession setting off at 1 PM. As part of the arrangements, MA Jinnah Road will be closed to general traffic from Gurumandir to Tower, with police officers stationed along alternative routes to assist commuters.
The procession will follow its traditional route, moving from Nishtar Park to Numaish, passing along MA Jinnah Road and Sea Breeze before making its way through Empress Market in Saddar. From Regal Chowk, it will proceed towards Tibet Centre, rejoining MA Jinnah Road before reaching Bolton Market and concluding at Husainia Imambargah in Kharadar.
For those traveling from Nazimabad, access will be available via Lasbela Chowk and Nishtar Road towards Garden, while commuters from Liaquatabad can use the Teen Hatti route to reach Lasbela Chowk before turning left towards Central Jail. Traffic from Hasan Square towards Peoples Chowrangi will be diverted to Kashmir Road and Society Light Signal, while vehicles from Jail Flyover will be redirected towards Teen Hatti and Nishtar Road via Lasbela Chowk.
Shahrah-e-Quaideen-bound traffic heading towards Numaish will be rerouted through Society Light Signal onto Kashmir Road, while vehicles from Jamshed Road towards Gurumandir will be directed via Bahadurabad, Yar Jung Road, and Soldier Bazaar. The Karachi Traffic Police have urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance and follow alternative routes to minimize disruption.
