KARACHI: A passenger in Karachi is seeking Rs10 million in damages from a ride-hailing company, alleging that its driver harassed her and that the company failed to take action after she reported the incident.
The woman has filed the lawsuit in a consumer court, which has since issued a notice to the company demanding a formal response.
In her legal petition, the woman stated that the driver’s “criminal behavior” was so severe that she was forced to jump out of the moving vehicle to escape. She further contends that the company neglected to take any disciplinary action against the driver despite her formal complaint.
