DERA ISMAIL KHAN:: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Dera has set up a dedicated complaint cell to address passenger grievances during Ramazan and the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, aiming to improve oversight of the transport system at a time of increased travel demand.
Led by Secretary Shaukat Iqbal, the initiative will operate at bus terminals and other key locations across the district, providing passengers with a direct channel to report issues. The move comes amid concerns about common travel problems during peak seasons, including fare overcharging, overloading of vehicles, poor management, and general inconvenience for commuters.
According to the RTA, all complaints received through the cell will be acted upon promptly, with authorities assuring swift response to ensure that passengers are not exploited. Officials said the system is intended to strengthen monitoring and improve service standards across the transport sector during the busy travel period.
Shaukat Iqbal said the initiative was designed to provide better facilities to the public during the holy month and to discourage unfair practices by transport operators. He urged passengers to make use of the complaint cell and report any irregularities without delay so that immediate action could be taken.
The RTA hopes the measure will help regulate transport operations more effectively, ensuring safer, fairer, and more organized travel for people across Dera during Ramazan and Eid.
