KHAIRPUR/KARACHI: A team of students from the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, showcased their innovative project “Angro Mango AI” at the Final Pitching Round of the Cohort 5 Incubation Flagship Program, held at the SSK Incubation Center, Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi.

The project leverages artificial intelligence to provide advanced solutions for Pakistan’s agricultural sector, reflecting a growing focus on technology-driven development in the country’s core economic activities. The initiative has received strong support from SALU’s leadership, including Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Khushk, and academic guidance from Prof. Dr. Noor Shaikh, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences.
Supervised by Prof. Dr. Samina Rajper, Director of ICS, the team — comprising Aneela Aziz, Mudasir Ahmed, and Waqar Ahmed — presented their project alongside faculty member Dr. Hanif Tunio. Their pitch aimed to secure a place in the incubation program, which provides seed funding, mentorship, and business development resources to promising startups.
The Final Pitching Round is a decisive stage in the incubation selection process, with shortlisted teams competing for entry into the structured ecosystem designed to transform their innovative ideas into market-ready ventures.
For the SALU team, participation in the finale represents a significant milestone in their entrepreneurial journey. Successful selection into the Cohort 5 incubation program, scheduled to begin in January 2026, will enable the team to further develop their AI-driven solution, with potential for substantial impact on agricultural productivity and technology adoption in Pakistan.
