Amid concerns over Quetta Gladiators’ captain Sarfaraz Ahmed’s health after a head injury during a match against Multan Sultans, the team’s manager, Azam Khan, assured fans that the cricketer was “out of danger” and his health was on the mend.
Providing an update on Sarfaraz’s condition, Khan stated, “All of Sarfaraz Ahmed’s medical reports are clear, and his health is improving.” He further added that Sarfaraz, along with the rest of the team, was en route to Karachi, signaling positive progress in his recovery.
While confirming Sarfaraz’s availability for the next match, Khan assured that updates would be provided soon, indicating optimism regarding the captain’s return to the field.
Earlier, Sarfaraz had to sit out of the PSL season 9 match against Multan Sultans following a head injury sustained during the last over of Multan’s innings. Mohammad Sajjad Ali stepped in as his replacement behind the stumps.
Despite Sarfaraz’s absence, the Gladiators faced a tough battle against Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Mohammad Rizwan’s team defended their 181-run target effectively, restricting the Gladiators’ batting lineup.
Although Gladiators’ skipper Rilee Rossouw and youngster Khawaja Nafay showed resilience with a 60-run partnership, the team couldn’t maintain momentum after Rossouw’s dismissal. Despite their efforts, the Gladiators ended up tasting defeat by 13 runs, marking their first loss in PSL 9.
