ISLAMABAD: Over the past three days, security forces in Pakistan carried out intensive operations against the terrorist group Fitna al Hindustan, resulting in the deaths of 197 militants, officials said.
The operations, described by authorities as a coordinated effort to dismantle terrorist networks, reflected an ongoing campaign to curb violent extremism in regions affected by insurgency. According to security sources, the operations came at a high cost. Twenty-two personnel from the army, Frontier Corps (FC), police, and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency were killed while defending the country and safeguarding civilians.
The officials described the fallen as heroes who had laid down their lives in the line of duty, highlighting the human toll borne by those tasked with maintaining security. Civilians also suffered during the wave of violence, with thirty-six people among the casualties, including women, children, and Baloch nationals.
Authorities condemned the attacks, describing them as acts of indiscriminate barbarism aimed at spreading fear and destabilizing the communities. Local leaders and human rights observers stressed the urgent need for protective measures for vulnerable populations living in conflict-prone areas, noting that the human cost of militancy extended far beyond combatants.
Security agencies said the operations were part of a sustained strategy to neutralize terrorist hideouts and disrupt networks responsible for attacks on civilians and state institutions. Officials insisted that the campaign would continue until the groups were fully dismantled, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to combating extremism and protecting its citizens.
