KOHLU: Security forces in Balochistan killed five militants linked to the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna-e-Hindustan in Kohlu district, officials confirmed. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched on 25 December after authorities received actionable intelligence regarding the presence of the militants in a remote hideout.
Security forces acted swiftly, targeting the location with precision, and after a brief but intense exchange of fire, all five militants were neutralized. Authorities reported that a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the site, which suggested the group’s continued involvement in planning and executing terrorist activities across the region.
Security sources indicated that the militants had been active in multiple attacks, posing a persistent threat to the local population and stability in Balochistan. The ISPR emphasized that counter-terrorism operations in the province would continue with unwavering resolve, underscoring the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to eliminating all foreign-supported and externally-backed terrorist elements.
Officials described the Kohlu operation as part of a broader strategy to dismantle networks that undermine regional security, safeguard civilian lives, and reinforce the rule of law in areas affected by militant activity. Local residents welcomed the operation, saying that the presence of armed militants in their communities had long caused fear and disruption.
Security analysts noted that incidents like the Kohlu operation reflect both the ongoing threat of cross-border proxy networks in Pakistan and the increasing effectiveness of intelligence-driven military action against such groups.
The successful operation in Kohlu is being viewed as a reminder of the continuing vigilance of Pakistan’s armed forces, which have repeatedly pledged to take decisive action against organizations that seek to destabilize the country through violence and foreign interference.
