KARACHI: Comprehensive security arrangements have been finalized for the Chehlum procession of the Martyrs of Karbala, with enhanced measures implemented across Karachi and other major cities in Sindh.
As part of the security protocol, roads and streets along the procession routes have been barricaded with containers to control access and ensure safety. In addition, mobile phone services have been suspended in various parts of Karachi since last night, a move that extends to other major cities in Sindh including Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, and Khairpur.
The Sindh government has announced the suspension of mobile phone services as a precautionary measure to prevent any potential disruptions and ensure the smooth conduct of the Chehlum observances. This step is aimed at minimizing security risks and maintaining order during the significant event. A red alert has been issued across Sindh in response to the heightened security situation. Authorities will also conduct aerial surveillance of the procession routes to monitor and manage the security effectively.
Furthermore, a ban on double riding on motorcycles has been enforced throughout Sindh to enhance public safety and prevent any possible security threats. These measures reflect the commitment to ensuring a secure and orderly environment for the Chehlum procession, a key religious observance for the community.
