ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani has urged for comprehensive dialogue among all political parties, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), emphasizing the necessity for national unity during these challenging times. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Gillani, a former prime minister, underscored the pivotal role of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in spearheading these talks and making crucial decisions.

Gillani expressed support for Sharif’s leadership, stating, “Shehbaz Sharif is the captain of the team and must take the necessary decisions. If he makes any decision, we will support him on national issues.” This endorsement reflects Gillani’s call for decisive action and strong leadership to navigate the current political landscape. The Senate Chairman highlighted the importance of unity among political factions to address pressing national security concerns. He stressed that while positions and offices may shift, the strength and unity of the nation remain paramount. “Positions and offices come and go, but the nation must remain strong and united,” Gillani asserted.

Addressing the youth, Gillani offered guidance to avoid being misled and reminded them of their role in the country’s future. “Their honour is tied to Pakistan’s existence,” he said, emphasizing the importance of national integrity and unity. Gillani also reassured the public about Pakistan’s status as a nuclear power, affirming that the country’s constitution, courts, and institutions are robust and secure. His statements reflect a commitment to maintaining national stability and promoting a unified approach to overcoming current challenges.
