KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has issued a stay order in a case concerning the ownership of the Cotton Exchange Building (CEB), while directing all parties to appear on 9 January.
According to a spokesperson for the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), the court’s injunction was issued in favor of the municipal authority. The court also restrained the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from taking further action in the matter pending the hearing.
Separately, the FIA stated that the building had been sealed under directives from the Supreme Court. The dispute highlights ongoing legal and administrative challenges surrounding commercial property ownership in the city.
