KARACHI: Shehryar Gul Memon, an officer of BPS-19, resumed his duties as Coordinator of the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) for the Sindh polio program on 11 November 2025 in Karachi. Memon, a seasoned Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) officer, had previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Benazirabad, where he earned a reputation for administrative competence and effective governance.
Officials said Memon’s appointment to the polio program reflects the Sindh government’s commitment to strengthening its public health initiatives through experienced leadership. During his previous postings, he demonstrated a capacity to manage complex administrative tasks, coordinate with multiple departments, and implement government policies efficiently, qualities that are expected to support the ongoing polio eradication efforts in the province.

The Sindh health authorities welcomed Memon’s return, highlighting the importance of leadership continuity in driving forward critical public health campaigns. Observers noted that his experience and administrative acumen would be crucial in ensuring the smooth execution of immunization drives and in addressing logistical and operational challenges that have historically hampered polio eradication efforts in the region.
Memon’s resumption of duties comes at a time when Sindh continues to prioritize public health and disease prevention, reinforcing the government’s broader goal of safeguarding children from preventable illnesses through well-coordinated and efficiently managed initiatives.
