KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, said that a few days earlier the Sindh Assembly had hosted the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association conference, which conveyed a positive message about Pakistan to the world.

Sindh Senior Minister said the My Kolachi exhibition and other international exhibitions were organized in Karachi, sending a global message that Pakistan is a cradle of peace. He added that the Sindh government had organized the CPA conference in a highly successful and well-managed manner, which also sent a positive signal to the international community.

Talking to the media at the Sindh Assembly’s media corner, he said that following the CPA conference the president of the World Bank, along with an accompanying delegation, visited various cities and praised the Sindh government’s projects. He said the Sindh government was implementing what he described as the largest housing project in the world’s history, under which 2.1 million houses were being constructed.

Sharjeel Memon termed the initiative unparalleled anywhere in the world. He added that development projects were also under way in other cities of the province, including Karachi, and that the government was striving to provide facilities to as many people as possible. He further said that more projects would be launched in the future to maximize public benefit.

Condemning the incident that took place in Islamabad, Sharjeel Inam Memon said terrorists had attacked innocent and defenceless people with the support of Indian intelligence agencies and the Taliban. He said enemy countries that could not confront Pakistan directly, and had suffered historic defeat, were conspiring against the country through proxies.

Sharjeel said the attack exposed how far the enemy could stoop, while Indian fake accounts attempted to exploit the incident to spread sectarianism. He added that it was an attack on Pakistan’s integrity, to which the government had given befitting responses in the past and would continue to do so in the future.
