KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah attended a reception on Monday evening hosted by the Consul General of the Sultanate of Oman, Eng. Sami Abdullah Al Khanjari, to mark Oman’s National Day at a local hotel in Karachi.
The event brought together diplomats, business leaders, and officials from both countries, celebrating the long-standing ties and cultural connections shared between Pakistan and Oman. In his address, he highlighted the historic relationship between the two nations, describing it as “built on mutual respect and enduring friendship.”
Chief Minister Shah spoke of Sindh’s readiness to deepen economic cooperation with Oman, emphasizing areas where collaboration could yield substantial benefits, including ports and logistics, energy, fisheries, and tourism. The Chief Minister stressed that the province was keen to attract Omani investment and expertise to support infrastructure development and regional trade, while also fostering people-to-people links through cultural and educational initiatives.

Officials present noted that the gathering underscored Sindh’s broader strategy to strengthen international partnerships and create avenues for sustainable economic growth. Delegates from the Omani consulate reaffirmed their commitment to exploring opportunities in the province, with several expressing interest in joint ventures that could enhance trade and investment flows between Karachi, other Sindh cities, and Oman.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Shah also emphasized the symbolic importance of such occasions in reinforcing diplomatic and commercial bonds. He described the reception as a timely reminder that shared history and mutual cooperation could pave the way for concrete economic outcomes.
