KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has directed authorities to take stringent action against artificial price hikes during Ramazan, vowing that citizens should not face undue hardships during the holy month.
The directive came during a Sindh cabinet meeting, where Shah presided over discussions on 30 key agenda items. He emphasized the urgency of expediting delayed development projects, instructing ministers to ensure tangible progress.
According to the Chief Minister’s spokesperson, Shah made it clear that the hoarding of essential commodities would not be tolerated. He ordered strict market monitoring to guarantee a steady supply of quality goods at fair prices. “Every effort must be made to facilitate the public,” he insisted.
Beyond market regulation, the Chief Minister also directed authorities to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply throughout Ramazan, stressing that no citizen should suffer from utility shortages. He called for improvements in traffic management to prevent congestion, particularly in commercial hubs, to provide a smoother experience for the public.
As Ramazan approaches, Shah’s instructions signal a firm stance against economic exploitation and inefficiency, reinforcing his government’s commitment to protecting citizens from unnecessary financial strain and logistical challenges during the holy month.
