KARACHI: Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah visited the My Karachi Exhibition on Sunday, praising the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for what he described as the successful organization and sustained continuity of one of the city’s largest public events.
Congratulating the chamber’s leadership, the chief minister said the ability to hold the exhibition year after year had become a major achievement in itself, reflecting both institutional capacity and public trust. He noted that Sunday marked the final day of the multi-day expo, which he said had drawn millions of citizens from across Karachi and beyond.
Sindh CM described the turnout as evidence of the city’s enduring social and economic vitality, despite the many challenges it had faced in recent years. According to Shah, the scale of public participation underscored Karachi’s central role as Pakistan’s commercial hub and cultural meeting point.
During his visit, Shah toured various stalls and interacted with exhibitors, including representatives of local industries and international participants. He said the presence of foreign businesses and delegations at the exhibition sent a positive signal about Karachi’s potential and its continued relevance to regional and global markets.
The chief minister remarked that such events helped project a softer image of the city, countering narratives defined solely by insecurity or political instability. He also highlighted what he called Karachi’s resilience, saying the city had repeatedly demonstrated its ability to recover, adapt and move forward.
