KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori met with MQM-Pakistan Chairman and Federal Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, along with senior party leader Dr Farooq Sattar, to deliberate on the federal development package for Karachi and broader national political and economic issues.

The discussions, held at Governor House, reflected an emphasis on both the immediate infrastructure and civic needs of the province and the ongoing challenges facing Pakistan’s political landscape. He condemned a statement reportedly issued by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the United Kingdom, describing it as an act of terrorism targeting Pakistan and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Governor Tessori urged the British government to carry out a swift and transparent inquiry into those responsible for spreading anti-Pakistan propaganda, warning that overseas Pakistanis were being deliberately misled and could be drawn into narratives hostile to the country. Tessori emphasized that the use of Afghan territory for operations against Pakistan should be regarded as terrorism, which the state could not tolerate under any circumstances.

The governor also lauded Pakistan’s foreign policy achievements, noting that Islamabad had asserted itself successfully on the global stage, even in interactions with major international powers. He welcomed the federal development package for Karachi, highlighting its significance for residents not only in the city but also in wider Sindh, including Hyderabad, and praised the inclusive approach of the program.

Highlighting domestic initiatives, Tessori spoke of efforts at the Governor House to equip youth with advanced courses in information technology and artificial intelligence, framing them as essential tools for national growth, self-reliance, and preparing the next generation for emerging global opportunities. His remarks underscored a focus on both immediate governance challenges and long-term strategies for Pakistan’s socio-economic development.
