KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, has announced that the families of those who lost their lives in a tragic traffic accident involving a dump truck and a tanker will be given plots of land. Tessori visited the family of Nazir Abbas, one of the victims, and presented them with an 80-yard plot. He also took responsibility for the education of Nazir Abbas’s three daughters, pledging a monthly stipend of 5,000 rupees for each child.
Tessori addressed the media in response to critics, including political parties and the so-called “dump truck mafia,” who have been targeting him. “Every oppressed person in the city is my brother,” he said, adding, “When people go to the police station and say they are the brother of the governor, let’s see how anyone dares to turn them away.” He further committed that the families of all those who died in the April 12 crash, when a dump truck and tanker collided, would receive plots of land.
Governor Tessori invited the families to visit the Governor House to receive their allotments. He also raised broader concerns affecting residents of Karachi, pointing out that many are deprived of essential services such as electricity, gas, and proper sewage systems. He promised to unveil a detailed plan to address these issues from the Governor House.
“No more using the people’s emotions for political gain,” Tessori declared. “It’s time to stop the rhetoric and bring real change.” Governor Sindh shared that for the first time in 77 years, “Muhajir Culture Day” was celebrated at the Governor House. Tessori underlined the need for practical support for the migrant community, asserting that what they need are jobs—not empty slogans.
