KARACHI: Sindh’s minister for local government and housing and town planning, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has pledged full support for women entrepreneurs, saying that empowered women are the foundation of a strong and progressive society.
He was speaking as chief guest at the Women Empowerment Award Ceremony Sinf-e-Aahan, held at a local hotel in Karachi to honor women from diverse fields across Pakistan for their contributions to society. The event brought together professionals, achievers and guests in what organizers described as a well-organized and impactful ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Shah congratulated the award recipients and said platforms that recognize women’s achievements encourage confidence and enable them to play an effective role alongside men. He stressed the importance of women’s self-reliance and said such initiatives were essential for national development.
The minister also highlighted the central role of mothers in shaping a healthy and responsible society, saying that a mother not only nurtures a family but also contributes to building a better nation.
Shah praised Smart Business Group (SBG) and Elegant Event Planner for organizing the fifth edition of the awards, commending their professionalism and dedication, and wished them success in hosting similar initiatives in the future.
Senior journalist Zahid Karani was also acknowledged during the event, with the minister thanking him for the invitation to attend as chief guest. The ceremony concluded with a renewed emphasis on women’s empowerment as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s social and economic progress.
