SUKKUR: Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo on Wednesday said the launch of industrial activities in the Larkana Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is expected to create substantial employment opportunities and bolster the local economy.
Speaking at a meeting with investors, which was attended by SITE Managing Director Ahmed Fawad Shah and other officials, Dharejo distributed allotment letters for industrial plots and outlined the government’s expectations for rapid development. He stressed that all allottees must commence construction within six months, warning that failure to do so would result in the cancellation of their allotments.
The minister further directed that industrial plots be used exclusively for industrial purposes and cautioned that any violations would lead to immediate revocation. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing investors with a supportive environment, highlighting incentives and facilities offered under the vision of Sindh PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Officials said the move is part of a broader strategy to promote industrialization in Larkana and surrounding areas, attract private investment, and generate employment, while strengthening Sindh’s economic base. Investors attending the event were encouraged to take advantage of the facilities and contribute to the SEZ’s development, with authorities underlining that timely execution and adherence to regulations would be strictly monitored.
