KARACHI: Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjhar met with Inspector General (IG) Sindh Javed Alam Odho on 1 January to discuss the overall law and order situation across the province.
The meeting focused on measures to prevent crime, tackle street offences, and curb organised criminal networks. Officials reviewed strategies for restoring peace in remote and high-risk areas, eliminating armed gangs, and strengthening state authority.
Minister Lanjhar emphasised that criminal elements would not be allowed to operate with impunity. He underlined that law enforcement agencies would continue operations with full authority, describing the province’s zero-tolerance policy as an effective deterrent that has instilled fear among criminals.
“Protecting the public, safeguarding life and property, and maintaining peace remain the Sindh government’s top priorities,” he said, reaffirming the commitment to enforce the law uniformly and continue action against crime until it is eradicated.
IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho assured the minister that police would fully adhere to government policy, adding that eliminating crime across Karachi and the wider province remained a primary objective.
