KARACHI: Sindh’s opposition leader, Ali Khurshidi, expressed deep sorrow and condemnation following a deadly blast near a girls’ school in Mastung that claimed seven lives and injured several others, including young students. The tragedy has ignited widespread outrage, with Khurshidi highlighting the attack as a brutal affront to peace and education in Pakistan.
In his statement, Khurshidi extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, pledging solidarity with them in their grief. “Those who target our schools and children are enemies of both peace and progress,” he stated, emphasizing that such violence exposes the “malicious aims” of those seeking to destabilize Pakistan’s future.
Khurshidi urged the government to intensify its support for the victims and take swift, decisive action against those responsible. “This incident is a stark reminder that more robust measures are necessary to protect educational institutions and citizens alike. Our security forces must bolster their efforts to ensure safety and restore peace,” he added.
The attack underscores the persistent security challenges in Balochistan, where schools and public spaces have become frequent targets, posing a pressing issue for government and security agencies. Amid the aftermath of the Mastung tragedy, opposition leaders are calling for reinforced measures to secure peace and uphold access to safe education across the country.
