SUKKUR (HA): Assistant Commissioner New Sukkur, Bushra Mansoor, conducted surprise visits to various superstores, shops, and street vendors to inspect the prices of essential food items during the holy month of Ramadan. Several fines were imposed on superstore owners, shopkeepers, and street vendors for selling goods at inflated prices. Additionally, a hotel violating the Ramadan Ordinance was fined and sealed on the spot.
During the inspections across areas including Shikarpur Road, prices of vegetables, fruits, and other essential items were found to be higher than official rates. Acting immediately, the Assistant Commissioner imposed heavy fines. Hotels violating the Ramadan Ordinance were also inspected, fined, and sealed with the assistance of revenue officials.
Assistant Commissioner Bushra Mansoor stated that the administration is working day and night to ensure relief for citizens during Ramadan. Surprise checks and balance operations will continue daily, and no one will be allowed to exploit the public by overcharging. She added that Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, Nadir Shehzad Khan, has also emphasized a zero-tolerance policy: any shopkeeper, superstore owner, or food supplier selling items above government-approved rates will face strict action without leniency.
