SUKKUR: Deputy Commissioner Altaf Ahmed Chachar chaired a meeting to resolve transport issues and improve services at Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Bus Terminal. He directed that all transport vehicles must operate from the terminal in compliance with Sindh High Court orders and announced that 10 buses would be provided by the Sindh government for the Khairpur-Sukkur route.
The DC instructed the terminal administration to enhance facilities, including clean water, security, lighting, waiting halls, and encroachment removal. Transporters agreed to operate from the terminal once essential facilities are in place. Authorities, including the Assistant Commissioner Kot Diji, RTA, and DSP City, were tasked with inspecting the terminal and surrounding areas and submitting a report.
Illegal stops were identified at Mehran Highway, Baberloi, Nangreja, Maryam Top, and Panj Hatti. Action against these stops will commence immediately. Officials and transport representatives also discussed additional improvements such as plantation, restaurants, and security measures.
