LONDON: A convicted British-Pakistani man charged in connection with attacks on Adil Raja and Shahzad Akbar in Chesham and Cambridge was in Pakistan and later in Dubai at the time the incidents took place, according to sources. The attacks occurred in late December 2025 and early January 2026.
Asif Afsar appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court alongside Liam McGarry and Mark Regan. The three men face multiple charges, including conspiracy to assault and causing actual bodily harm, linked to attacks on Shahzad Akbar and Adil Raja on 24 and 31 December 2025.
Court records show that Asif Afsar, previously convicted in separate cases, is also known as Asaf Hussain Afsar. He is listed as a company director of Rapid Response Recoveries Ltd, registered at the same address confirmed by police, where he was arrested three days earlier.
